Flags remain at half-staff due to the passing of a heroic giant in the march for social justice in the United States of America. John Robert Lewis was the son of sharecroppers who survived a brutal police beating during the landmark 1965 march in Selma, Alabama. He encouraged all Americans to "get in good trouble, … Continue reading Me and John Lewis in Racist Hawai’i

Bernie Sanders Says Wear a Mask to Save America
Not sure how the mask debacle began, but was shocked U.S. "experts" told us not to #MaskUp at the outset of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. I was questioning colleagues in the public health community. None -- and I absolutely mean zero -- agreed with me to recommend Americans put on a damned face mask -- a … Continue reading Bernie Sanders Says Wear a Mask to Save America

Hawai’i Hits Second Wave of Covid19
UPDATE 7.13.20: The Governor and Lt Governor proposed allowing pre-flight C19 testing, which I opposed immediately. The tests are highly unreliable as I documented here. Last Thursday (7.9), Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell expressed doubt about the plan, saying he no longer believed it was “safe for everyone.” U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, and members of the Hawaii County … Continue reading Hawai’i Hits Second Wave of Covid19
Aloha Friday: Have We Become a Nation of Sissies?
Uproar on social and national media: safety issues, school openings, wearing face masks -- all now have become political fodder. Gender drives much of this divide. A woman commented on one of my posts. Jody Peterson: I've been a wreck thinking about what to do.....Especially with a new baby in September. It's terrifying...working is bad … Continue reading Aloha Friday: Have We Become a Nation of Sissies?

Hawaiian Electric CEO Connie Lau Does Not Respect the ‘Aina
Some claim local girl and Hawaiian Electric CEO & President Constance Hee Lau is remarkable. Certainly believe she's an excellent banker. She's done a decent job with American Savings. Yet Hawai'i has plenty banks. She also directs our primary energy supplier in the islands. I sounded the alarm about poor management a year ago. ValueAct … Continue reading Hawaiian Electric CEO Connie Lau Does Not Respect the ‘Aina
Hawaiians Do Not Understand America’s 4th of July
As our young people tear down statues, call the nation racist, we must ask ourselves how it's possible they have such a dismal and distorted understanding of U.S., Hawaiian and world history. Certainly don't blame teachers or the school system. I know what goes on. Students are more interested in texting each other and finding … Continue reading Hawaiians Do Not Understand America’s 4th of July
CEO Connie Lau Racism Triggers Colin Kaepernick Style Blacklisting
Yesterday, I described my history suffering Institutional Racism at Hawaiian Electric. Today I'll provide a detailed summary and timeline showing how Hawaiian Electric management appears to have interfered and blacklisted/blackballed employment opportunities for me at HDS, Hawaiian Dental Services. There are thousands of residents and mainland contractors employed by the state's primary energy provider. Employees … Continue reading CEO Connie Lau Racism Triggers Colin Kaepernick Style Blacklisting
Racist Connie Lau Policies, Colin Kaepernick and Me
In August 2017, NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick (CK) took a knee in protest during the pre-game national anthem. He told media after the game, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color." His action triggered other protests and ignited … Continue reading Racist Connie Lau Policies, Colin Kaepernick and Me
