Black Lives Do Not Matter in Hawaii

Update: June 18, 2020 — as pointed out in the original article, the federal government sent the State of Hawai’i $30 MILLION to assist homeless. This Black woman doesn’t receive a penny. She needs medical and psychological attention. Since the city removed the bus stop benches, she slept on the sidewalk last night.

This morning she threw her rubbish around the area. She’s a public health menace to herself and others. Government can shut down businesses, churches, gyms and parks. They do nothing for her or residents in this area.

City workers install new “mushroom” seats rather than benches to prevent sleeping at the bus stop.

Mushroom seats completed. One homeless person forces $10,000s in taxpayer modifications. Nothing goes to the homeless individual. Hawai’i officials ignore the human element and play “Wack-a-mole” instead. She simply moved thirty-feet away.

Filmed woman as I waited for my bus. She smoked five (5) cigarettes back-to-back. Seems to be disinfecting her belongings, but I’m not really sure what she was doing. How sad is this? Governor FrankenIGE, Lt Gov Dr. Jekyll Green, Honolulu mayor Kirk Caldwell should be ashamed of themselves. Extremely cruel politicians and officials in Hawai’i. Where’s the aloha?

Update: June 17, 2020 — this is Dan and a couple female friends. On social media, he claims to support #BLM. Asked for his opinion about my article. “Looks inflammatory and thoughtless, racist troll!” he answered. Won’t include his last name. He’s a liberal from Oregon and an attention-seeking starving artist.

He added, “Racist, insensitive and ineffective author … Add that, too.” This is an example of the neo-liberal movement — you know, tolerant, inclusive and kind. Oh, yeah, and WOKE … add that, too.

Also! Got some actor therapy in on a commercial set this past weekend. Able to work with this pair of lovelies and a handful of familiar faces around set 🙂 should be good n goofy!

Rolling Stone Editor Unloads On Media, says “The American Left Has Lost Its Mind.” The magazine is a known “liberal rag,” and editor Matt Taibbi is unquestionably liberal.

“It feels liberating to say after years of tiptoeing around the fact, but the American left has lost its mind. It’s become a cowardly mob of upper-class social media addicts, Twitter Robespierres who move from discipline to discipline torching reputations and jobs with breathtaking casualness.”

This morning, bus stop area was total mess. Dirty clothes strewn around; bottles and rubbish thrown into street. Local business and police had to be summoned.

Shortly afterward, Honolulu city personnel removed all the benches at stop 880. It’s like the worst teacher we had in middle school … makes ALL the class late for lunch because two knuckleheads in the back won’t stop talking.

benches
Lacking a solution, Honolulu city crew removes public benches. Tough on elderly.

Many people use the benches — primarily older women and those who suffer long, hard and physically-demanding days on the job. One homeless woman continues to sleep and foul area; now nobody now can sit. Nice job, Democrat-led Hawai’i.

Update: June 15, 2020 — spoke with the woman last night after police left. Asked why she doesn’t go to a nearby shelter. She told me the shelter only allows her to stay one night. Although the federal government appropriated $30,000,000 for the homeless in Hawai’i, none goes to her. Look at her conditions and the sores on her legs.

Although the U.S. Congress sent the State of Hawai’i $1.2 BILLION, legislators locked this away for a “rainy day.” None go to her.

Officials in Hawai’i are cruel, miserly people who count their money, while ignoring the plight of thousands. I recorded this woman for about five minutes then spoke with her. She repeatedly asked for money, as she claimed to be hungry. The State of Hawai’i has billons but she sleeps on a bench. Her friend is clearly in need of mental health services.

On June 5, 2020, some 10,000 spirited and idealistic people ignored COVID19 public safety warnings and descended peacefully on Honolulu, Hawai’i.

Their rally and march extended from Ala Moana Park to Kapiolani Park on the Diamond Head end of Waikiki. Protestors chanted the name of the African American man murdered days earlier: George Floyd

marchers

Although thousands of people claimed to support #BLM — Black Lives Matter — sitting just across the street observing the procession at the 880 bus stop was a long-time homeless Black woman. Not one protestor stopped to help or assist her. Black Lives Do Not Really Matter in Hawai’i.

The woman literally destroys the bus stop. The picture above shows the bench she had hijacked after city crews spent over an hour to clear and clean the area. The picture below shows conditions after she left. She’ll be back.

mess

In this COVID19 pandemic, the woman does not wear a face mask. Although there is a No Smoking policy at bus stops, she regularly sits and smokes forcing bus rides to move far away.

Hawai’i U.S. Senator Brian Schatz announced last week the federal government appropriated $30 MILLION dollars to assist the state’s effort to manage the homeless population. There are an estimated 6,500 homeless on our streets on any given day. Dividing $30M by 6,500 is about $4,600 per homeless human being.

These resources won’t go to this poor lady. Hawai’i government will fund program administrators and design fancy offices so they can “deal” with the “problems.” It’s standard Trickle Down Policy. Millions to the top; pennies trickle down to those at the bottom.

The photo below shows the woman moved to the side as city workers cleaned and disinfected the area. After they departed, she moved back to claim her spot. Nobody can use “her” bench.

cleaning

Local ordinance says one can’t lie down or sleep at a bus stop. This woman has been sleeping here for weeks. She moved in to the bus stop across the street a month ago. Destroyed that one.

sleep

When the woman made her home at the 884 bus stop on the makai side of Ala Moana Blvd, she had collected so much rubbish people were unable to walk by and were forced into the street. She pulled in three shopping carts full of junk and filthy possessions. Smell was horrific.

While the COVID19 pandemic demanded attention from law enforcement, three officers responded to calls about two weeks ago after she began throwing cans and bottles into the street. We watched as two males officers supervised her as she cleaned up the area, while the third, blonde female, grabbed a broom from the back of the squad car and sweep the street.

Law enforcement is stretched thin due to pandemic and protests, and Honolulu’s finest are sweeping the street. #BlackLivesMatter, except when they don’t.

Black people killed by police

2019: 235
2018: 209
2017: 223

Black people killed by people

2018: 6,237 Black Americans murdered and 90% killed by Black people. This number of deaths is 29 TIMES higher than the number of Black Americans killed by police.

Why does #BLM not say anything when Black people kill Black people? There are some BAD cops along with many GOOD cops. It seems to me there are MANY MORE BAD Americans. #BLM says nothing. They do nothing to assist this homeless woman.

Just today, we observed three patrol cars respond. Officers spoke with the woman and left. It’s unclear what was said. She remains living at the bus stop. While officers were speaking with the woman, a male kept screaming at them, “You’re a piece of shit! You’re a piece of shit.” He’s angry police officers are doing their job.

Hawai’i Lt. Governor Josh Green wants to give people like this woman a “tiny house” or locate her in a communal village. She needs mental health assistance. She is unable to keep herself or surroundings clean. She threatens people and aggressively demands money or food. She makes it uncomfortable for bus riders who use the stop or need to rest on a bench. She’s a menace to public health and destructive to herself.

Like many issues in our nation and state today, government is gridlocked and unable to respond effectively to the crisis. Politicians talk and continue making empty promises. They send law enforcement to answer calls, but do not provide them authority to change or correct the situation. People become frustrated with police, yet law enforcement has no more power than we do.

Officials who run our government have failed all of us. Riots and frustration we see across America reflect the Loss of Confidence we collectively harbor about those who hold the reigns of power. Republicans and Democrats alike do not hear our pleas for competent leadership. They protect the Most Rich in society while the poor and Middle Class fight over crumbs.
