And, then, one morning Lily put pink marker all over her mouth. The day before, a child at school had called her ugly, and she thought the “lipstick” would make her look prettier.
Called her ugly? Called her fat? Called her four-eyes? Called her what? Kids call each other many negative names. We all did; we all were recipients of teasing, bullying intimidation. Can’t stop it. We can teach our children this one simple rule, “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never heart me.

Michelle Gurule’s book, “Thank You, John,” is scheduled to be released in September. Michelle uses her beauty and sex as a shortcut to financial success.
Struggling financially? HuffPost suggests, “Become a prostitute or Take off your clothes!”
HuffPost featured another woman, Violet Coal, who changed her life stripping on OnlyFans. “How could I, after 36 years of chaos, trauma, and systemic failure, possibly start to be … successful?”

Violet concluded, “In this work, I get to be smart in lots of different ways — learning tech, building strategies, figuring out what my audience wants.” Every small business owner to CEO needs an analyst who can provide exactly this information.
Violet takes a shortcut marketing her looks. She’s justified becoming a porn star to herself, just as Michelle Gurule justified become a prostitute. HuffPost encourages other women to follow these pursuits by publishing both of these women’s path to success. Lily will grow up in a world where women believe their beauty and body is more important than their brain.

May Ling’s WOKE problem is that mothers call their daughters a princess. They’re not. Mothers don’t call their young boy’s a prince. Women focus on beauty, and teach their daughters to focus on beauty. Mothers make unnecessary false claims about their daughters being beautiful and princesses. Why?
May Ling asks, “How has the world warped this child’s view of herself? Why does Lily even need to care about looking beautiful at 4? Is she worried about getting a date for the class field trip?” May Ling needs to ask herself … ask other mothers.
Lily cares about looking BEAUTIFUL, because May Ling and her mother say she is — they put this concept in her young mind. More attention is finally being paid toward the harmful effects of social media on teens’ body image and mental health, she says.
Social media? Lily is 4. She didn’t learn this “harmful” behavior from social media. She learned it from May Ling, PhD, college graduate and professor of psychology at California State University, Long Beach, and director of the Culture and Social Identity Development Lab. In May Ling’s research, she discovered that among girls, a preoccupation with appearance starts as young as age 3. Probably much younger, but girls don’t remember. Mothers begin calling their girls beautiful at birth.
When asked to select from an array of outfits and occupations, May Ling said the girls in our study tended to select many fancy outfits and appearance-related occupations, like being a model or makeup artist. REALLY? That’s what young girls see in society.
When Lily is supposed to be brushing her teeth, May Ling she looks in the mirror with a frown on her face, eyes scanning her features with disappointment. Lily has wavy dark-brown hair; she wants straight blond hair. Just like mom, other women want blonde hair, right? Mom and other women aren’t happy with their natural color. Lily learns from watching other women.
Across studies, not only did girls tend to care highly about appearances, but May Ling said they also did so more than boys. “Girls were about five times more likely than boys to say they liked a character due to what I refer to as ‘appearance reasons.’ Boys more often cited ‘action reasons,’ such as liking Spider-Man ‘because he jumps high, climbs and shoots webs.'”
May Ling’s study concluded that gender differences related to how much emphasis we place on beauty likely start in preschool. FALSE. They start in the home shortly after birth. May Ling flunked my class.
May Ling says, “Girls around the world have long been taught that beauty is of utmost importance …” May Ling said Lily was beautiful; not a great athlete, skilled scientist or wonderful cook.
May Ling adds, “My two young daughters have probably drawn upwards of a thousand pictures of Moana over the past two years.” They believe Moana is beautiful.

May Ling now blames social media. Why not corporate media? Why not magazines and movies? Why not mothers or even herself? She called Lily beautiful. “By adolescence, children are already primed to be preoccupied with how they look — a vulnerability that social media, often a very visual platform, taps into and exploits.” WOKE INSANITY !!!
May Ling asks, “If we know that emphasizing physical appearance sets girls up for unhappiness — or worse — we must rethink our words and actions that instill this value, and we must begin before adolescence and social media use.” Yes, May Ling. Why did YOU claim Lily is beautiful?
May Ling CHOSE to be obsessed with her weight. Many Asians are brutally afraid of getting “fat” or weighing more than what they believe is the “perfect weight.” Varsity volleyball, track & field made May Ling “fit and strong” at 15. Boys would be delighted. We work hard to be fit and strong.
As a 12-year-old, I was obsessed with the weight I gained during puberty. Though doing varsity volleyball and track and field made me fit and strong when I was 15, I was unhappy with my body, and experienced depression and suicidal ideation.

May Ling however became unhappy. She claims she suffered “depression and suicidal ideation.” May Ling sure learned many big words and scientific phrases in her PhD programs. Didn’t learn any common sense. I would NEVER send my child to May Ling’s sessions. What a retard!
May Ling also had to throw Institutional Racism into her WOKE complaint. May Ling is Asian. Asian women strive to be 98lbs and skinny like a pencil. Even an ounce of body fat is a death sentence.
However, it’s “white beauty standards” that are causing the problem: “It can be even more complicated for children of color or children from low-income backgrounds, where looking “good” can be unfairly and dangerously tied to respectability. In these contexts, parents are often actively fighting to keep their kids from internalizing insidious white (sic White) beauty standards, in addition to challenging gender stereotypes.”
Of course, it’s important to instill a sense of pride in one’s appearance. But this is possible without focusing on traditionally esteemed — and frequently policed — characteristics. It can be even more complicated for children of color or children from low-income backgrounds, where looking “good” can be unfairly and dangerously tied to respectability.
