Attorney Megan Kau CELEBRATED today the Hawai’i Circuit Court denying WIDOW Lindsay Myeni’s wrongful death lawsuit in the HPD shooting of her husband, Black male, Lindani Sanele Myeni. On social media, Megan wrote, “Justice has prevailed.”
UPDATE 8.1.25: Comments posted to KHON2 News’s Post
Anita Diaz: Black or Brown woman, and two others, understood the facts and are compassionate. The rest of the locals are cruel. I’m so ashamed of local people. God will not forgive us.

Local Cruelty
Shocked by public comments on social media by our dominant Asian population.

“BRAVO,” says Korin. Claims Lindani was on the owner’s property. He was not. He took off his shoes before entering. A burglar does not. He left after 40 seconds. An attacker does not. He stood in the doorway apologizing. A rapist or violent offender does not. Korin claims he did not comply with to officers’s repeated commands. FACT: HPD did not identify themselves. HPD did not use their emergency sirens or flashing lights. Lindani did not know they were officers. Korin admits he was confused. HPD did not follow their SOP. Lindani was murdered. A woman is left without a husband; her two keiki left without their father. BRAVO, says Korin.
Jessica Dole: This individual stunned me. Claims to work at Department of Homeland Security, studied Political Sciences at USC Trojans, went to Punahou School, lives in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is from Westport, Connecticut. Hard to know exactly as HPD killed him. He took off his shoes; was wearing a religious headband and there is a religious temple next door. It was a group home. He followed a couple into what he may have believed was a “religious temple.” He left after 40 seconds. Stood in the doorway apologizing, “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” HPD did not identify themselves. Jessica works at DHS? Political science degree from USC? Punhou School grad? I don’t see Jessica being one of our nation’s Best & Brightest.

Bruc Wong: Had HPD identified themselves, Lindani would not have defended himself.

Gayle Nakama: Applauds the judge! I responded, “you then applaud RACISM. The judge CHEATED. You might want to get all the facts before supporting Asian Racism.”

I cannot understand such cruelty from residents in the Aloha state. WIDOW is left without husband, keiki without their father. Gayle says she is divorced and claims, “I see things other’s can’t. I get communication from those who have passed.” If she can see things that others cannot, how can Gayle not see the abject racism in this killing and failure by HPD officers?
Gayle answered with a warning, “Scott Goold I do not approve of racism. My family has married into various races and no problem. It’s small minded filled like you that judge on personal belief than actual fact. The judge did not cheat. There is no room for bias in a courtroom. I suggest that you keep your feelings to yourself as you will most likely get blasted on this page. Good night and good luck to you.”

My response below:
JUDGE cheated. Judge was aware HPD failed to identify themselves. Lindani’s attorneys may also have claimed HPD acted with malice. They did not. Judge was correct on this point, but ignored the key fact and MOST IMPORTANT evidence.
HPD did not know Lindani. Therefore there can be no malice. They simply responded to a hysterical RACIST Asian woman. They however did not identify themselves.
I’m 6’5, athletic but White. Lindani, also tall, athletic but Black. Had I removed my shoes, accidentally walked into the group home, apologized, the Asian woman would have offered me tea. A large Black male scared her to death. Review Tulsa Race Riots, if you do not approve of racism. Historically, Black men have been brutally mistreated by society and authorities over false claims by women. The claims by this RACIST Asian woman were false, and her hysteria led HPD to murder Lindani.
Yesterday, I emailed both Lindani’s attorneys:
Bridget G. Morgan-Bickerton: morgan@bsds.com
James J. Bickerton: bickerton@bsds.comI offered to assist their defense of Lindani. If they claimed HPD acted with MALICE, I told them they were wrong and the judge correct. I offered to assist with a Negligent Homicide claim.
Your claim is incredibly racist and cruel in my opinion, “but it’s time to move on. Wishing her all the best.” This is why I added your initial comments, as well as these to my blog article.
Gayle warned, “I suggest that you keep your feelings to yourself as you will most likely get blasted on this page.”
I will STAND UP to you and any others who exhibit such a CRUEL and RACIST position.
Ernie Kim: Did she? Her “directed verdict” prevented a JURY from hearing this case. Why is the judge afraid to let this WIDOW and her two keiki have their day in court at trial by jury?

AP Lew: HPD acted crazy by NOT identifying themselves. Didn’t use emergency siren or flashing lights. Talk about crazy!!! Lindani’s “prize” was to be murdered.

Maynard Chee: NOTE: HPD did not.

Dotson Keomarhasarkout: Really? Not very good judgment.

Brian Espenshade: Really? Not very good legal expert.

Jim McShane: Just outstanding? HPD failed to identify themselves. Outstanding?

Kacay Pahukoa: Round of applause for killing a Black man, leaving a woman without her husband and the two keiki without a father. Happy days!

Robert Young: More applause and even thumbs up! Killed a Black man, left a woman without her husband and the two keiki without a father. Aloha!

James Flynn: HPD didn’t identify themselves; didn’t use their emergency siren or flashing lights. Guy from another country would NOT know they were HPD officers. He would still be alive had HDP followed their SOP.

James Flynn responded, “Scott Goold jake made da commet, not me🤣”

My response below:
Your comment is PARTIALLY TRUE and very useful to Lindani’s defense.
“he was from another country, and freaked when a cop approached him,hed beat the cop up broke his jaw and other injuries,a tazer may have not worked,he be still alive if he LISTENED to the police.”
Lindani WAS FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY. HPD did not sound their sirens or flash their emergency lights. HPD wears dark blue uniforms, not visible in the dark area. And, HPD flashed MagLite beams in Lindani’s face — blinding him.
Lindani NEVER knew who was assaulting him. You and I would resist, fight back as well. NONE of you understood that happened, yet YOU convicted him on social media.
Anthony Tony Faatea: not likely had HPD identified themselves.

Jon’l Sampaio: Correct? In my political science class, you receive a “F”

Sunshine Fano: you’re right! Can’t get any clearer: had HPD identified themselves, used their emergency siren and flashing lights, Lindani would be alive today. Wife would have a husband; two keiki would have their father. HPD would not have needed to “protect themselves” had they identified themselves.

Charles Lee: Right direction? HPD failed to follow their SOP. Didn’t verbally identify themselves; didn’t use their emergency siren or flashing lights. You claim Lindani was a “dangerous and criminal husband.” Dangerous and criminal perps do NOT take off their shoes before entering what he believed was a religious temple; they do NOT leave after 40 seconds; do NOT stand in the doorway apologizing, “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” WIDOW now is without her husband; two keiki forever without their father. I’m a taxpayer and offer to buy ALL THREE a meal anytime. I pledge $100 today.

Chris Chang: Money? HPD wrongfully killed her husband. Attorneys agreed to $1.5M settlement. Her attorney takes $500,000. Taxes take $500,000. WIDOW is left with $500,000. If Lindani makes $50K per year for the next 30 years, their family would earn $1.5M million. Even with settlement, the family loses. She’s without her love of her life; keiki without their father forever. Cruel people in Hawai’i.

Pat Han: Lindani NEVER knew they were police officers. HPD officers FAILED to identify themselves in the darkened night. Can’t see them in dark blue uniforms. HPD officers did not use their sirens or emergency flashing lights. Failing police SOP is a losing proposition for all of us.

Offered Megan and those commenting an opportunity to discuss with me:
I believe Lyndani Myeni was MURDERED. HPD failed to identify themselves until after shooting Lyndani. They wore dark blue uniforms. Was pitch black outside in the area. HPD shined blinding Maglites in Lindani’s face. He had no idea who was attacking him.
I believe all of you are insensitive, wrong in conclusion and cruel. Are you sure you’re not racist toward a Black male? Who has the COURAGE to discuss with me? Megan Kau?
Scott Goold, 7.31.25

Acting Deputy HPD Chief Allan Nagata admitted officers did not identify themselves in response to reporter’s question, “You know what? I think you might be right. They didn’t identify themselves.” [See video at 3:00] From the video, we are clear that it’s not possible to SEE the officers in the darkened night. And there are no indications of flashing lights from a patrol car or sirens.
HPD responded to a “burglary in progress.” There was never any burglary. Lindani had politely exited the home; apologized. He had taken off his shoes before entering. Burglars don’t take off their shoes. He was wearing a religious headband. The Asian woman freaked out; HPD failed to identify themselves. Megan Kau and her followers applauded, are joyful and delighted that “justice prevailed.” What cruel motherfuckers!
Watch the YouTube Video
Futa Lures responded. Admire the courage, “Scott Goold look up the definition of murder.”

I answered:
Look up the definition of self-defense. If you like, I’ll change my charge to INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER, if the city is PONO to the WIDOW and two keiki of Lindani Myeni.
UNDISPUTED FACT: HPD failed to announce they were police officers when approaching Lindani. Very dark night; officers wore very dark uniforms. Officers shined Maglite high-intensity beams in Lindani’s face.
Involuntary manslaughter is an unintentional killing that occurs without malice or intent to cause death or serious bodily harm. It’s typically the result of criminal negligence or recklessness, where a person’s actions, though not intended to cause death, lead to a fatal outcome.
The death results from a negligent or reckless act, where the person failed to exercise the care that a reasonable person would have taken under similar circumstances.
HPD officers FAILED to announce they were police officers. That’s NEGLIGENCE — 100%. The verbal record is documented on officer body cams. Had HPD announced who they were, Lindani would not have assaulted the officer. Lindani would be alive. HPD officers negligent act cause Lindani to DEFEND HIMSELF, which led HPD officers to SHOOT HIM DEAD !!!
I only play an attorney in Judge Dean E. Ochiai’s Hawai’i Circuit Court. Megan Kau is a highly-skilled PROFESSIONAL attorney of many years. How does she fail this legal question, if not a racist human being?
How does Wanda Lee claim, “Great Job Megan.. God is good.. truth prevailed,” if not a racist human being? GOD IS GOOD???
The court found that the city is not liable to Myeni’s family. “Myeni punched (the officer), and then 16 seconds later, he’d been shot four times for punching the officer.” First Circuit Court Judge Karin Holma granted the city’s motion for a directed verdict, meaning the judge ruled in the city’s favor before the case could be submitted to the jury.
HPD is insured. Compassionate people would have agreed to the settlement arranged by party attorneys: $1.5 million — to a WIDOW and her two keiki for loss of husband and father. Don’t ever claim officials and Asian attorney Megan Kau live aloha in the Rainbow state.
Holma ruled there was no evidence to support that police officers “recklessly disregarded” Myeni’s constitutional rights. [source] Myeni’s attorney claimed, “His punch was legal. It was lawful because he was unlawfully being attacked.”
I believe the Hawai’i Circuit Court cheated Lindsay and her keiki, because Hawai’i Circuit Court Judge Dean E. Ochiai cheated me. He also allowed Hawaiian Electric’s attorney, Randall C. Whattoff, to cheat me. Hawai’i is a cesspool of cheaters. I documented how LOCALS cheated Lindani and Lindsay years ago:
Lindani Myeni Murdered for being Black
Lindsay Myeni, who filed a lawsuit in 2021, testified tearfully in support of the settlement and held up her husband’s bloodied shirt with bullet holes that he had been wearing that night.
Patrick Lyoya Killing Rocks Sense of Security for Black Immigrants. Check out Lindani Myeni
I don’t believe Megan represented the City & County of Honolulu in this case. Maybe. However, Megan shocked me applauding the victory of local government over a grieving WIDOW, “Justice has prevailed.” Comments to her post sickened me (see below). All seem quite cruel and heartless.

Brief History
HPD officer body camera documents, as Myeni’s attorney told council members, that officers didn’t tell Lindani they were police when they approached him. They shined high-intensity flashlights, Maglites, in his face, which blinded him. [source]
Lindani couldn’t see that he was being approached by police officers wearing dark blue uniforms in the dark of night. I believe confused Lindani was simply trying to defend himself from unknown assailants.
Video shows HPD shot Lindani — and then called out, “POLICE” … no dispute. HPD failed to announce who they were when they approached Lindani in the blackened, dark night. [source]
Lindani was new to Honolulu — and Black — a former rugby player from South Africa. Was seeking a religious temple in a remote area of the city. No street lights. Many dwellings do not have visible street addresses. Homes are super large, as many are group dwellings for multiple families and visitors. A home and religious temple easily could be confused in the dark of night.
Murdered for being Black
Lindani accidentally followed a couple into the wrong home. Doorbell camera shows him apologizing profusely numerous times using a soft, gentle voice. Lindani was murdered for being Black.

The Asian woman in the incident “freaked out.” She was hysterical. She made a FALSE 911 report to HPD of a “break in.” Even the 911 dispatcher was confused by her frantic and unreasonable emotional outburst.
I know Asians well. In general, Asians are some of the most kind, compassionate, intelligent, hard working and decent people in Hawai’i. I adore Asian people. They have inspired my life, and respected Megan Kau.
However, many Asians are brutally racist toward Black people. I’ve battle KKK-types from the deep south; feared for my life standing toe-to-toe against white supremacists in northern Idaho. Asians can be brutally racist toward Black human beings.
Female Wang appeared to be racist toward Black Lindani. She reported falsely to authorities that Lindani refused to leave the home and remained at least five minutes. No account of his refusal is heard, and the Ring.com video shows Lindani was in the home less than 40 seconds. [source]
Lindani Myeni was falsely accused and murdered for being Black.
Overt Racism in Hawai’i
Megan Kau claims to be a Lawyer, former deputy prosecutor and CPA (non-practicing). Worked at Megan Kau, Attorney at Law, lives in Honolulu, Hawai’i, and is from Kaneohe, Hawai’i. She’s a beautiful woman, seems to be quite capable and bright. I’ve concluded however Megan is incredibly racist. Megan for example defends the use of “haole” when referring to White Americans.
To most civil people, use of “N*GG*ER” is a racist slur. To me, calling a White American “haole” means “White nigger.” It’s a racist slur. I wrote about the sordid acceptance of “haole” by The Hawai’i Innocence Project. Challenged all to discuss with me. Their silence is deafening.
They defend use of the term while in their cozy group. None have the COURAGE to discuss with this White American face-to-face. Megan Kau is one defender. Their intellectual pusillanimity to speak to me directly reveals guilt, in my humble opinion. Man Up, if you believe you are justified.
The City & County of Honolulu are insured for wrongful death incidents, but Megan was delighted justice prevailed. WIDOW Lindsay and her two young children lost husband and a good father after HPD shot a confused Lindani.
DELIGHTED that three human beings were thrown out onto the street !!! Justice prevailed, she cheered. I also was thrown out onto the street after being confused by locals. Wrote in my 2022 blog post:
Lindani Myeni is a Black male. Won’t be treated fairly by Asian-dominated officials in Hawai’i. No aloha spirit for a Black refugee from the Zulu tribe in South Africa

Local People Cheat Outsiders
I first reached out to Megan Kau when I sought legal representation in Hawai’i. No legal reason she would not be willing to assist. Megan said she would get back to me. Never responded. Learned later that Megan defends the practice of calling White Americans “haole.” It’s an US vs THEM attitude. LOCALS vs Outsiders. Those who belong in Hawai’i vs Those who do not.
My manager at HECO believed I belonged here. HECO IT department and my coworkers did. I fit. I clam however I was wrongfully terminated from my position at Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) because local people fucked up. I had worked for HECO some six months. My manager, Lori Yafuso, rated me as a team MVP.
But….YOU have been a great asset to our team and it is your personality and humble nature that makes all of us so comfortable working together. We have had contractors on the DBA team before, but never with the synergy and positive energy that you bring with you. I believe you have had the greatest influence in our success and glad that we selected the right contractor. You have definitely made your mark here at HECO and have set the bar very high for future contractors! [emphasis mine]
Thank you for being you…keep doing what you do…keep that good karma flowing!
Lori, November 13, 2018
An individual on any team considered to have had the “greatest influence in our success” is an MVP. I know. I was MVP for the State of Idaho my senior year for my high school basketball team. Was a MVP in college setting a career assist record … MVP.
My HECO manager considered me an MVP. Great honor to me. A HECO coworker also submitted a survey after I performed solved problems on his project: 5 STAR RATING.

I loved my job. Loved my manager and coworkers. Fucking loved Making HECO Great!!! I was excellent at my job. HECO fired a top employee — a MVP; then HECO incinerated Lahaina. LOCALS vs Outsiders. LOCALS incinerated Lahaina.
Local Insecurity Triggers Racism
A long-term position opened at HECO. Lori asked me to apply to serve permanently. “We’ve been dating long enough. Let’s make this a permanent marriage,” she teased. Was honored and said yes. We shook hand.
We completed the application and paperwork. Passed my background check. HECO HR then notified me I needed a drug screen. Fine with me. Don’t drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes or use illicit drugs. Lori had provided Hawaiian Electric Code of Conduct. My behavior was flawless — MVP.
I was badly injured and suffer a disability. I’m prescribed medication for pain. Rather than use opioid drugs, my doctors recommended medical cannabis. I asked HECO HR rep Liz Deer if my medication was permitted. Recall she told me I would be fine. Liz said her supervisor, HECO HR director Shana Buco, would contact me if there was a problem.
Shana never contacted me. I therefore submitted to the drug screen February 14, 2019. HECO told me a few days later I had been officially selected. HECO instructed me to come to work Monday, February 25, 2019, as a permanent employee. Lori and our team celebrated the announcement Friday afternoon February 22, 2019. What a party my family and friends had that weekend.
Shortly after 11:00am on Monday, received phone call from Shana. Shana Buco fired me. Told me to exit the building immediately — do not respond to emails, do not return phone calls, do not pass your work to other team members.
Shana’s attitude toward me was simply get the fuck out of the building now. I was in tears. Was shaking, collapsing in an anxiety attack. I recall Shana Buco said I was a danger to HECO, my coworkers and the general public. Danger? I was suicidal.
I never medicated before or during work. My prescription called to medicate before bed to reduce pain so I could sleep restfully. HECO management and my colleagues had observed me closely for some six months. Was always fit for duty. One client I provided complex solutions for some six months wrote:
Hi Scott, I personally never saw any evidence of you being impaired. Quite the contrary in fact. I would say sharp, expedient, professional, technical, humble, the whole package really. But I did notice you had a limp, so I suspected you were in pain, but you never mentioned anything, and I never bothered to ask, our conversations were always about getting things done, and you delivered in times when we had to deliver and get things done.
Marijuana is a complex issue, often misunderstood, has been known to relieve pain, and when used correctly does not impair.
Sincerely,
[name withheld to protect HECO employee, May 5, 2019]
HECO fucked up. My manager was required to discuss medications with me before I ever worked a single minute with the company. Personally, don’t believe HECO HR ever trained her properly. HECO HR rep Liz Deer wasn’t properly trained, although she coordinated drug screens. HECO HR director Shana Buco told me she had never seen written policy about medical cannabis. HECO fired me!
HECO managerial system failed over and over and over. Then HECO executive management incinerated Lahaina. I warned local people about the CRUELTY and INCOMPETENCE of HECO management.
HECO recruited me from Kaua’i to O’ahu on August 8, 2018; exactly five years later, August 8, 2023, HECO incinerated Lahaina. Pele was pissed. HECO CEO Shelee Kimura was not asked to step down. HECO instead gave Shelee multiple raises. HECO fired me however, and I had performed exceptionally. LOCALS vs Outsiders.

LOCALS killed an outsider … a Black man, looked to be accused falsely for being Black. HPD failed to identify themselves. Lindani was murdered. HECO failed to notify me. My career was murdered.
HECO CEO Shelee Kimura failed to de-energize HECO power lines in extremely high winds. At least 102+ human beings, included keiki were murdered. Shelee received a raise. Asian LOCAL vs White and Black outsiders? Megan Kau was delighted.
To LOCALS, I’m a “haole,” an outsider, a stranger … someone who doesn’t deserve to be here. “Haole go home,” is a common slur. “Fuck you, haole,” is another. Lindani Myeni didn’t deserve to be murdered. Lindsay didn’t deserve to be thrown out of Circuit Court. LOCALS vs outsiders.
COMMENTS: “God is Good”
Megan Kau wrote, “Justice has prevailed. The court found that the city is not liable to Myeni’s family.” As of writing, 201 LIKED or LOVED Megan Kau’s post; 20 commented (below). [source: Screenshot Megan Kau]

Dexter Chun recommends, “Hit the family for attorney and related costs. Definitely malicious abuse of process. Attempted money grab shut down by our court system.”
