Hawaiian Electric management and government officials would love to throw me into the volcano. Local culture punishes those who criticize our modern “kings and queens.” Hawaiian Electric was involved in the overthrow of the kingdom and corporations became the new monarchy. I’m deeply American and despise those who consider themselves to be kings (such as FELON RAPIST 47 in the White House). FREEDOM isn’t free and democracy requires citizens to be bold and courageous.

Josh, agree with you. Why then did you refuse to stand up for me when Hawaiian Electric Co. (HECO) fired me for using medical cannabis? State of Hawai’i legalized in 2000. Served HECO as an IT professional in a non-safety-sensitive position. My treatment plans calls for medication only at night prior to bed to reduce my severe chronic pain. HECO denied me employment, healthcare insurance and benefits. You are not thinking straight. Our family suffered. Over 30,000+ patients in Hawai’i still suffer.
First met Josh Green at a campaign event in 2018. Appeared to be a gentle, kind human being. Worked with Josh Green in a policy session 2019. Thought we became friends … more than just acquaintances. Voted Josh Green for governor in part because he pledged to LEGALIZE recreational cannabis. He lied. He betrayed the people and voters in Hawai’i.
You are not thinking straight. Your personal conflict has nothing to do with the rest of the state and you should get help. We are working on a $5B disaster and you think this about you and your marijuana conflict. Get real.

Dangerous Alcohol Legal. Cannabis Illegal
I don’t drink alcohol. Alcohol is a poison. Alcohol causes many social ills. In a perfect world, alcohol would be prohibited. Our world isn’t perfect. Prohibition of alcohol created a war between 1920-1933. Our nation learned that in a FREE society, people have to be FREE to decide; not government.
Republican Richard Nixon criminalized cannabis in 1970; not due to science. His team, the Schafer Commission, recommended legalization. Nixon however wanted to obstruct the anti-war protestors (Hippies) and rising Black power movement. Claiming they could SMELL marijuana, police were able to violate human and civil rights. They demonized “marijuana,” as Trump demonizes illegal immigrants today.
Josh Green PROMISED to legalize recreational cannabis. As a doctor, he knows cannabis is not “dangerous” to the user or society. He appointed Anne Lopez as Attorney General, as she promised to legalize recreation cannabis. After the election, Josh waffled; Anne flip-flopped. Both BETRAYED the people and voters of Hawai’i.
As a PhD student, provided criminal justice research to the State of New Mexico. Research was clear and Republican Governor Gary Johnson called for legalization in 2000. We lost. Democrats opposed us, called us stoners and druggies. They discredited us for our radical and dangerous views. Claimed we were not thinking straight.
In 2021, New Mexico Democrats LEGALIZED recreational cannabis. Sales began April 1, 2022. The State has realized BILLIONS in sales and tax revenue. Now, New Mexico is funding a basic income program, providing $750 monthly payments to low-income families from the sales of recreational cannabis. Hawai’i families continue to collapse.
Hawai’i Officials FUND Criminal Organizations
BASIC economics. Users were spending this money with CRIMINALS, drug cartels and gangs. Now, the money goes to small businesses and government. Americans are clear. Strong majorities of Democrats, Republicans and Independents support legalization. The People have spoken.
Josh Green and Anne Lopez refuse to listen to the people. Their arrogance continues funding CRIMINALS and drug cartels. Former Gov Linda Lingle, Old-School police and law enforcement, push this failed policy. Josh Green and Anne Lopez do not have the COURAGE to do the right thing.
By the way, there are LEGAL recreational cannabis shops popping up all over Honolulu. They use a loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill that legalized hemp to produce High-Content THC-infused recreational cannabis. Legal recreational THC-cannabis is here in Hawai’i. Josh Green and Anne Lopez don’t know. They lost to criminals, cartels and the innovative businesses community.
