Thank God for White People. They Ended Slavery in America

All human civilizations were built originally by Sub-Saharan Africans and then stolen by interlopers. The same as the British, the first Japanese were Black, TRUE !!! Black people created slavery. “We only have general numbers for the ninth Mansa of the Mali Empire, Musa I, Mansa Musa (the wealthiest person in history). When Musa made his pilgrimage to Mecca, history says he went with 60,000 men, including 12,000 slaves. [source]

There wouldn’t have been any slave trade at all, if it had not been for the middlemen, the chiefs of certain African tribes, who had captured people from other tribes and enslaved them. It’s important to say Africans have sold Africans. It’s important to know that.”

Musa owned 12 TIMES the number of slaves as Joshua John Ward, historically the largest American slaveholder. In 1850 Ward held 1,092 slaves. When Musa departed Mali for the Hajj, he left his son Muhammad to rule in his absence. Musa made his pilgrimage between 1324 and 1325 spanning 2,700 miles. His procession reportedly included 60,000 men, all wearing brocade and Persian silk, including 12,000 slaves. [source]

Most Americans imagine slavery in terms of cotton fields and the Old South. They don’t realize that the transatlantic slave trade sent Africans primarily to South America and the islands of the West Indies. According to one well-regarded census, 9.6 million Africans arrived alive in the so-called “New World” from the 16th century through the 19th century. Of these, less than 5 percent, 427,000, were brought to what is now the United States. Nearly 4 million went to Brazil, the largest single devourer of African labor. There, the average life span of a slave was a few years. [source]

Jewish Role in Slavery

Looking at Brazil, the Portuguese were the first to colonize Brazil, and Sephardic Jews from Portugal were among these early settlers. “In its early years,” writes Seymour B. Liebman in New World Jewry, 1493-1825, “Brazil was built by Negro slaves (400,000 between 1570 and 1670) and the acumen, hard work and calculating perseverance of the Jews.”

“The buyers who appeared at the auctions were almost always Jews.”

Arnold Wiznitzer, Jews in Colonial Brazil

During this time in Brazil, Jews owned a small percentage of the sugar plantations but were the predominant retailers of slaves in the colony, according to Arnold Wiznitzer’s Jews in Colonial Brazil. Shipping of Africans to Brazil was monopolized by the Dutch West India Company, which sold them “at public auctions against cash payment,” Wiznitzer writes. “The buyers who appeared at the auctions were almost always Jews.” These brokers then sold slaves to plantation owners on credit. More than 23,000 Africans were shipped to Brazil between 1636 to 1645, Wiznitzer says, a period when perhaps half of the 3,000 White civilians living there were Jews. [source]

Due to the 4th of July celebration, millions of American citizens on the political left used the holiday to trash the United States of America. I found this meme commonly posted on Facebook. “If you celebrate the 4th of July full blown without zero hesitation whatsoever, you are either:”

A) a white supremacist

B) a raging drunk/partier

C) a hillbilly redneck

D) an ignorant uneducated child

OR

E) all of the above

U.S. Public Schools teach this ignorance

To be clear, our family celebrates the 4th of July full blown without zero hesitation whatsoever! I’m a White male; my wife is Native American. Bree Newsome Bass says, “She’s sorry!” Yes, Bree, you are a sorry person, you are gleefully uninformed, and I will educate you.

Cori Bush posted that the Declaration of Independence was written by enslavers and didn’t recognize Black people as human. In the 18th century, people around the world held slaves — slavery existed for 1,000s of years. Black, White, Asian, Native American — all owned slaves. Cori is correct. Enslavers did not recognize slaves as human. You know what else? People today, 2023, who demand abortion do not recognize the developing baby as human. Cori and Bree likely stand for abortion rights.

Our public schools are teaching our keiki to be ignorant today. William Croft Buckmaster reports that high schools students believe slavery began in America. They have no knowledge that the African slave trade existed long before America was discovered by Europeans and the USA was founded. The Bible contains part of this history, as described in Exodus. Those events occurred some 5,000 years before the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787.

It’s not just the issue of slavery that our keiki do not understand, they have no functional understanding of U.S. and world history. Some 72% don’t know we fought Hitler in WWII; 87% didn’t know we entered WWII due to the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Seriously! But they know their pronouns.

They also believe ALL White People are racist. Regardless of how a White person believes or acts, these younger generations and political left considers them to be racist. My great grandfather, Robert A Lower, served as a Union soldier. At 18 years of age, he was awarded the Medal of Honor — our nation’s highest honor — for valor and bravery during the Siege of Vicksburg.

The Union army asked for 150 volunteers. They had to be single, unmarried, as they were not expected to survive. It was a Forlorn Hope suicide mission. Would you raise your hand? Private Lower did. Of the 150, he and 18 survived … 88% perished — to free Black slaves. Younger generations call him a racist.

Brutal World

Russia is attacking Ukraine; France is on fire; Israel is attacking Palestinians. The U.S. suffers unacceptable gun violence daily. Not much different from 1776, 1860 or during the European expansion across America that pushed out the indigenous people. Humans have fought over land, water and resource rights since the beginning of our existence.

Erick Erickson points out an inconvenient truth: indigenous tribes fought each other, stole ponies or other goods, and killed each other over land or water rights. My Native American wife is not interested in returning to living in a tipi and bathing in a cold stream, we are better off today.

History of Slavery

Keith Woods, @KeithWoodsYT, posted to Twitter a look at slavery outside of the West. It has become popular to blame White people for slavery, to the point that many actually believe slavery was invented by or exclusively practiced by Europeans. But the history of slavery outside the West is far more brutal. The Arab world “invented” slavery thousands of years ago.

Black folks captured Black families and sold them into slavery. The fictionalized movie, The Woman King, portrays a group of all-female warriors in the 1800s, who protected the African kingdom of Dahomey.

The Arab slave trade emerged in the 7th century, 10 centuries before the Atlantic slave trade. Arabs sold Africans to the Middle East for a variety of jobs such as domestic work or harem guards — castrating male slaves was common, causing over half of males to bleed to death. Historians estimate that between 10 and 18 million people were enslaved by Arab slave traders, including women and children taken as concubines.

They also rounded up and captured Black human beings to be sold into slavery. Which made them a-lot of money! The Arab slave trade was particularly brutal: it’s estimated that 3/4 of captured slaves died before they reached the market for sale.

In central East Africa, ethnic groups such as the Yao, Make and Marava were fighting against each other and entire peoples within the continent, then traded the people they had captured through wars. Thus Arab Muslims encountered already existing structures, which facilitated the purchase of slaves for their purposes. The West African Songhai Empire relied heavily on captured slaves in all levels of society, even as soldiers.

Africans themselves also played a large role in facilitating the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Slave traders did not normally themselves capture and enslave black Africans; instead they obtained their human cargo through barter with coastal middlemen. For every captive, these brokers demanded an assortment of exotic goods, the precise composition of which depended on the specific needs and fancies of consumers in the region where trading took place.

Europeans did not introduce slavery to Africa. As African rules rose and fell, their political opponents, people of high social status, and their families were sold to promote internal political stability. Poor people were sold to reconcile debts owned by either themselves or their families. Chiefs sold people as punishment for crimes. Gangs of Africans and a few marauding Europeans captured free Africans who were also sold into slavery.

Domestic slaves were resold and prisoners of war were sold. Africans themselves carried out the capture and sale of other Africans for enslavements. Few Europeans ever actually marched inland and captured slaves themselves.

The Arabs also had a slave trade in Europe. Estimates are that up to 1.25 million Europeans were enslaved by Barbary pirates, who would raid villages in coastal countries like Italy, France, England and Ireland, bringing them to North Africa for sale.

In some cases entire villages would be captured, such as the Irish coastal village of Baltimore, entirely raided in 1631. These slaves faced a brutal future, engaging in hard labour or sexual servitude, and spending nights in hot and overcrowded prisons called “Bagnios”.

Many slaves captured by Barbary pirates were sold eastwards into the Ottoman Empire. Slavery was central to the Ottoman Empire, most towns had dedicated slavery markets called Yesirs. Their slaves came from Africa, the Caucasus, the Balkans and Eastern & Southern Europe.

Sexual slavery was a big part of Ottoman society. Slavic women were popular slaves, and Köçeks became a popular source of entertainment in the 19th century. These were young boys, usually from European backgrounds, who were circumcised, cross-dressed and trained as dancers.

Hereditrary slavery is recorded in China dating back to the Xia Dynasty in 2100 BC. Africans purchased on the Silk Road were used as a sign of wealth. After Chinese law began to treat women as property around 1000AD it was common to sell daughters and sisters into slavery.

The Mongols enslaves tens of thousands of Chinese as punishment for resistance. In the post-Mongol Ming Dynasty, thousands of slaves were employed to do bureaucratic jobs for the government, and rich families also employed thousands of slaves to perform menial labour.

Slavery was common in American civilizations like the Aztec and Maya. Among the Aztecs, slavery was a punishment for a variety of crimes or even failure to pay taxes. Husbands and wives sold each other in times of economic hardship. Slaves were identified by wooden collars.

Slavery was also common practice in the civilizations of South-East Asia. The Khmer Empire had a massive slave class that did much of the work building monuments like Angkor Wat. Historians estimate 25-35% of the population of Thailand/Burma were slaves in the 17th century.

Since ancient days it was quite common for peasant families to sell off some of their children in difficult times or to pay off debts. This system was prevalent throughout Asia, including Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia. Peasants unable to repay debt to landlords and the ruling class could be sentenced to work as slaves.

Slavery also existed among Native American tribes. Slavery was common practice among Northwest tribes like the Tlingit, for whom one third of their population during the mid-1800s were slaves.

The only difference between these cases of slavery and that practiced by Europeans is that Europeans abolished slavery on humanitarian grounds, and spread this across the globe. The intense focus on the White role in slavery is a product of widespread Anti-White animus.

There is no excuse for the irrational hatred and uncivil behavior by the political left toward White people today, not all White people held slaves or supported slavery. When signing the U.S. Constitution in 1787, representatives pledged to end slaver trafficking. Britain finally abolished the trans-Atlantic slave trade in 1807, and the United States implemented its ban a year later in 1808.

Britain and France first ended slavery; the US fought civil war between 1860 and 1865 to end the practice. Don’t be a slave today to ignorance. White people did not invent or start slavery; White people ended the immoral practice.

Three Cheers for the Red, White & Blue!
