David Ruch PROVES Native Hawaiians Have Poor Education

As I continue my work to help Native Hawaiians (Kanaka) strengthen their lāhui, I keep running into poorly-educated Kanaka who further a false, distorted, deceptive and hateful narrative about history in the Hawaiian archipelago. Saying mean and negative things about me doesn’t injure me. You know, “Sticks and stones can break my bones, but names and labels can never hurt me.” This loser-mentality hurts their keiki, as well as the Kanaka lāhui. Champions move forward. Kanaka continue to fall backward.

Yesterday, I discussed the tragedy that Kanaka have such poor education. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, and Kanaka culture disadvantages their youth by failing to provide them with the tools to succeed in our increasingly complex global community.

Hinol Mokiao Kekuia Keoki (Keoks) responded, “Scott Goold I’m not a native Hawaiian, I’m a kanaka maoli🤙🏾🤙🏾”

David Ruch, “the roachman,” who lives in Denver, Colorado, and is from Goleta, California, responded to my post and was less gracious: “Scott Goold — Nothing funnier then (sic) blanket statements from an outsider claiming we are uneducated. Dude doesn’t even know who we are.”

I responded:

David Ruch — you said, not me, “We Are Uneducated.” I didn’t say that … and thank you for making my point. I said “Tragic that Native Hawaiians Have Such Poor Education.” POOR Education and UNEDUCATED are not the same.

And, the fact is that YOU appear to have a POOR EDUCATION and do not know the difference. Kanaka students perform worse, score worse than other students in the islands. I document my source.

So, brah, why don’t YOU tell me who you are?

The Roachman came back for more: “Scott Goold — you made a blanket statement howlie. You are like those self righteous missionaries of the past. This is not my page. Respect is given to Hinol Mokiao Kekuia Keoki. It is not my place to tell you to leave but it would be nice if you could learn a bit about respect.”

I responded:

David Ruch — the RACIST SLUR you attempt is not “howlie,” but “haole.” Again, you PROVE your lack of education. You even criticize the missionaries, who arrived in 1820.
First contact occurred in 1778 by British Captain James Cook. After this, ships from England and other nations began arriving. Cook was a brilliant man. Doubtful you know his history. One of his epic feats was keeping his sailors alive. Most crews PERISHED on these long voyages.

Thus, sailors were the WORST of the worst; generally criminals: “rot in prison or go to sea.” And the sailors to reach Hawai’i were BAD, BAD men.

Kanaka men and leaders ALLOWED their innocent, child-like, beautiful, tanned, long-brown hair women of very young age to swim or canoe out to the arriving ships. And the PREDATOR sailors had their FOUL ways with these kind, compassionate females. On shore, the wahine would dance exotically topless in front of drunk sailors. What do you think happened? These PREDATOR sailors Sexually Abused and Raped the innocent wahine.

Of course, men like you do not care that the DAUGHTERS of Kanaka were being raped, left with STDs and unwanted pregnancies. Men like you haven’t changed in 100s of years. You likely voted for the PREDATOR in the White House.

However, the MISSIONARIES were horrified by this ABUSE of young, innocent Kanaka women. They STOPPED the hula, STOPPED the swimming naked out to the ships, and STOPPED the rape of Kanaka women. They taught sailors and Kanaka men to RESPECT women !!! You talk about respect??? You know nothing about respect.

The MISSIONARIES then wrote the ʻōlelo Hawai’i alphabet and TAUGHT the Kanaka to read & write. Kanaka were one of the MOST Educated People in the world. That was RESPECT for the Kanaka. Not today !!! Kanaka officials today provide POOR Education to the Kanaka. Kanaka keiki are failing in schools. Kanaka do not respect education; they do not respect their own keiki.

And now, you know the REAL HISTORY of Hawai’i. You are welcome. A mind is a terrible thing to waste !!!

And supporting the statement I made yesterday, “There’s an adage that a stupid person doesn’t know he is stupid, and this idea is supported by the Dunning-Kruger effect, a cognitive bias where people with low ability in a specific area overestimate their competence,” David again responded:

“Scott Goold — yeah lmao cook? You do know how he ended up?”

I responded:

David Ruch — of course I do … BIGGEST Kanaka mistake in history!!! Captain Cook came in peace. Had excellent contact with Kanaka on Kauai’i and Ni’ihau 1778. Excellent first contact with Kanaka on Big Island, 1779.

You see, James Cook was a COMMONER in England. And England then as today is a CLASSIST society. Only members of the Royal Family could become a ship captain. Yet James Cook, a commoner, became an English ship captain. You clearly are not sufficiently educated to know why!

And James Cook believed there were islands north of the equator, although other captains said he was wasting his time. He was a brilliant man. Most importantly, he was compassionate and kind. Most captains did not go ashore. James Cook did, as he wanted to treat INDIGENOUS people with respect — didn’t want criminal sailors make key decisions — and didn’t want to fail, as did Christopher Columbus.

UNFORTUNATELY, the Kanaka on Big Island were THIEVES. They did not RESPECT Captain James Cook’s polite and respectful behavior. Kanaka on Big Island STOLE one of James Cook’s longboats. And a crew without longboats could not get to shore to collect fresh water and provisions.

STEALING a longboat was similar to stealing a horse in the Wild West: a hanging offense. James Cook however went ashore hoping for a PEACEFUL resolution. Kanaka Thieves then MURDERED James Cook and ate parts of his body.

Kanaka claim a great victory over this brilliant, enlightened and kind human being. However, what do you think the British told the world?

“Kanaka are THIEVES, MURDERERS and SAVAGES … do not respect them! They are not Christian and will harm you. They are savages … take their lands, take their women, take whatever you want. Kanaka are BAD PEOPLE.”

As the saying goes, “One never gets a second chance to make a good first impression.” Yep! Kanaka killed Cook. As a result, Kanaka lost a kingdom!!!

LEARN RESPECT !!! Captain Cook was respectful. Now you have been EDUCATED !!!

Don’t be like The Roachman. Learn history. Take the time to research and find out the facts, rather than listen to the uneducated gossip that is commonly furthered in the islands. Hawai’i is a beautiful paradise. The Native Hawaiian people, Kanaka Maoli, Kanaka ʻOiwi or simply Kanaka were a great culture. They have lost their way. I hope to be a lighthouse to guide them back home.
