Is it the lack of fluoride in da watah in Hawai’i? Absence of seasons? How is it possible to have so many dangerous authority figures in the Aloha state? Last week, posted a Surfrider Kaua’i call to block the dumping of wastewater near Kapa’a on the eastside of the Garden Island. Seriously? What rational planner believes such a project makes sense?
Two weeks ago, posted a proposal by Olin Keahola Lagon, to hang heavy solar collectors from high-rise balconies in Waikiki and across our island chain. Professional installation not needed. Just clip a $800 8′ X 3′ 100lb panel purchased from Home Depot or Lowe’s to the railing, plug into a nearby electrical outlet. Voilà. You got power! In big winds, you also have a flying missile and a railing ripped from the lanai. Millions of dollars in damages; countless lives lost.
UPDATE 10.14.25: Women Killed by Flying Solar Panel
Unfortunately, we’re going to hear more and more about these deaths and injuries as homeowners, businesses and government place solar panels on rooftops and elevated structures. There is an absence of common sense in our nation at this time.

UPDATE 8.13.25: StarAd Promotes Hanging Solar Panels from Balconies
StarAd asks, “So why haven’t they taken off in the United States?” Can you imagine what happens in high-winds of Hawai’i? No engineers or common sense in media or politics. Good luck!

Stacey Alapai promoted the option on social media. Works at Just Actually LLC and studied at University of San Francisco. Went to college? Yikes? OK. Maybe she didn’t take any engineering or common sense classes.
Olin however boasts a long history of professional planning: Board Member at Hawai‘i Land Trust; Commissioner, Chair at City and County of Honolulu: Office of Economic Revitalization; Board Member at Ceeds of Peace; Board Member at ‘Ōlelo Community Media; Co-Founder at Shifted Energy; Co-founder at Purple Maiʻa Foundation; Former Co-founder at Kahanu; Former Founding Team & Chief Architect at WorldPoint Interactive, Inc.; Former Executive director at Kanu Hawai’i; Former Co-Founder & President at ChipIn; Former CEO at Hawaiian Homestead Technology; Worked at Peace Corps; Worked at US Navy/Naval Reserve. Lives in Honolulu, and is a local boy from Honolulu, Hawai’i. Darn right scary!
Hawai’i is rated the MOST CORRUPT STATE in the nation. Merit is less important that one’s family name or political contacts. Seasoned local writer, Lee Cataluna, explained that outside talent was desperately needed, but hiring locals continues the preferred system of favoritism and patronage.
Locals get cheap deals from friends. Locals also incinerated Lahaina, killing at least 102+ human beings, including keiki, destroying over 2,000+ homes and small businesses, and leaving some 10,000+ victims in their wildfire tsunami. Hire a friend; save a buck; incinerate a village. Local kine, brah!
Christine Camp Seeks to Remove Housing Development Protections
This week, Christine Camp, CEO of the Avalon Group, and Hawaii’s U.S. Senator Brian Schatz further a proposal certain to KILL PEOPLE in Hawai’i — garanz ballbearans. And, these two are big-time movers and shakers. Government is wrong they say. Government has caused the housing crisis in Hawai’i and across the nation. [NOTE: Christine UNFRIENDED me for commenting and BLOCKED additional comments. Have to post this history online.]

As CEO of Avalon Group, Korean immigrant Christine directs a major real estate development, investment and services company that she founded in 1999. Mission is to create better communities in Hawaiʻi for people to live, work, learn and play. Throughout the years, Christine claims she dedicated her expertise to the betterment of her community by serving on a variety of boards, and has won multiple accolades for her work.

Beautiful woman, right? Highly accomplished? Undoubtably. Christine was named 2024 CEO of the Year. Rose from poverty to create her own development company. Christine claims “the impossible is possible here in America.”
Wait? Christine directs a real estate company. The Avalon Group develops projects to create homes. What does Christine want? Less government regulation. U.S. Senator Brian Schatz agrees. Brian is Hawaii’s Democratic representative.
CivilBeat reported today that Big Island mayor Kimo Alameda said “fat chance” residents on Hawaii’s largest island would meet the government requirement of removing all the dangerous cesspools and converting to septic tanks by 2050. He claims the “state mandate to get rid of the reef-killing sewage systems is unrealistic.” Unrealistic? 25 more years? Officials and residents simply don’t want to pay. They want cheap. They are selfish. They kill the reefs; then endanger other locals and visitors.

Lack of government regulation led to Big Island residents installing half of the 83,000+ statewide “shitty systems.” Meanwhile, writes Paula Dobbyn, “our waters are bombarded by pollution and Hawaiʻi has the nation’s highest rate of staph and MRSA infections.”
And, that folks, is why we must have government regulations. SELFISH people will cheat the public and their neighbors to save a few bucks.
Typically, Republicans and CEOs like Elon Musk demand less regulation. FELON RAPIST 47, the pedophile’s friend in the White House, seeks to slash government regulation. Christine’s follower Matt Eagle wrote, “WOW…Government admitting it failed the people.” Government didn’t admit anything. Hawaii’s U.S. Senator Bryan Schatz shreds public confidence in government.

Hawaii’s U.S. Congressman Ed Case, also claiming to be a Democrat, voted with Republicans to censure Democratic Congressman Al Green for protesting cuts to Medicaid. What the fuck is going on with Hawaii’s national delegation?
CEO Christine “In Schatz” Camp wrote July 27th, “Senator Brian Schatz’s speech says it all! Government created our housing crisis and government can and should fix the crisis by getting out of the way. The bill that he has introduced goes beyond partisan politics and we should all support his efforts. Bravo Senator Schatz!”
Local conservative groups loved and promoted his position:
“When it comes to one of the most basic necessities in life for people – housing – both political parties have failed,” said Senator Schatz. “This crisis was not inevitable. It is a problem that the government has created. There is not enough housing in this country because we have made it virtually impossible to build housing. But the good news is this if the government got us into this mess in the first place, it can help to get us out. And mainly that means getting out of our own way and not preventing the very things that we say that we like.”
Government didn’t install cesspools on Big Island. People did. People got us into this “shitty” mess. Government regulations require people to remove them. Mahalo, Senator Shit-for-Brains!
ROLE of Government
I responded, “Government did NOT create a housing shortage. COVID pandemic flushed millions of city dwellers into homes. Florida housing market now is collapsing as city dwellers are moving back to cities. Hedge Funds are buying homes for investment properties and renting them out.”
Christine Camp graciously and kindly answered, “Scott Goold while I don’t understand the specifics about what happened in Florida, what Sen. Schatz says in this video is absolutely appropriate for what’s happening in Hawai’i. I highly recommend you watch the short clip. Thanks for engaging!”

I responded, but let me first explain the role of government. Government makes laws to PROTECT citizens — WE THE PEOPLE. Why have speed limits? Drivers will drive too fast and kill somebody. Why DWI laws? People will drink, climb in behind the wheel and kill somebody.
Today, HECO announced RED FLAG warnings of possible power shut offs (see UPDATE 7.31.25). Government required HECO to provide these warnings, and prepare to shut off power in high winds, because of the Lahaina disaster. Had HECO shut off power on August 8, 2023, 102+ human beings, including keiki, would be alive today.
And government mandates regulations in housing development. WE THE PEOPLE don’t want overdevelopment in some cases. Ever drive north shore? Leave the country country, right? There are 250 inhabitants per square mile on the north shore; 5,000 inhabitants per square mile in Waikiki; and 60,000 inhabitants per square mile in Manhattan, New York City.
In a week, I can build a comfy ‘ohana house out back for your grandmother. Big winds of a hurricane might bring the roof down on your grandmother however, killing her while she sleeps. I can save you money on plumbing, and dump your waste water into your neighbor’s yard.
Easy to save a few bucks wiring your home. Of course, might start a fire one night and kill you and your keiki before you can get to an exit. Government regulations reduce these risks. Christine and Bryan want to remove regulations. They put our families at risk. Their proposals support killing people.
RESPONSE
Thanks! Listened before I commented. I’m a HOME BUILDER. Schatz is correct about regulations. He’s WRONG on conclusions.
In Hawai’i, there are 83,000+ CESSPOOLS in our islands. These a large bins homeowners put in the ground to hold their SHIT decades ago … and I say SHIT because we must know the reality of NO regulation. This SHIT now flows into our streams and ocean, pollutes our drinking water. Government regulated … NO more cesspools. I ask you: you want SHIT in your water or government regulation? How do you vote? Yes or No ??
If we don’t regulate, people build CHEAP ‘ohana homes on their property. When hurricane winds and rain hit, these dwellings collapse and kill our keiki or grandma. Yes or No ??? More cheap ohana homes?
Brian’s video is 10 minutes; I can talk for 10 hours why we need regulations. If I don’t build to code, but you do, I save $250K. You spent $800K, but my home goes up in flames and destroys your home, kills your children and you lose all your priceless possessions. You’ll be FURIOUS with government for letting me build an unsafe home! Yes or No ? Can I build cheap ???
The PROBLEM is NOT high-priced homes. The PROBLEM is our WAGES are too low. In Hawai’i, the PROBLEM is everyone in the world wants to live here … it’s paradise. Basic economics: high demand = high prices. We live in a resort.
We have plenty of land. Government protects millions of acres and zones this agricultural land. We could build homes …. 1.4 million live here. Build more home, 10 MILLION would live here. Hawai’i would look like Hong Kong. Is that what you want? Yes or No ???
IF NO, then why is OUR U.S. Senator MISLEADING the good people of Hawai’i?
PROBLEM is Low Wages
I explained why WE THE PEOPLE demand government protection and regulation. I also provided the REAL solution. Local workers need to be paid higher wages. Then local people can afford housing.
If a person has the skill set to work in Hawai’i, they need to be paid well enough to live in Hawai’i. That’s the only solution. This system then rewards youngsters who do well in school, learn a trade or earn a valuable college degree. Merit replaces favoritism or political patronage.
The CHALLENGE
Many of Christine’s followers commented favorably. I was the only Negative Nancy. Jesse Miller wrote:
“Totally agree, my friend!
The National Association of Home Builders and the National Multifamily Housing Council found that more than 40 percent of the cost to build new apartments comes from government regulation. When regulations pile up, it makes housing harder and more expensive to produce.
If we want to solve the housing crisis, we need smarter and faster solutions that actually let homes get built for people of all income levels throughout Hawai’i.”

Howard Garval added, “Yes, he is offering some of the best ideas I have heard for solving the housing crisis in America. Christine, I know you know better than most. I agree, bravo to Senator Brian Schatz!” 🤙👍🌈🌴👋

Thus, I challenged ALL to a debate. Government or No Government: That is the question.
Aloha ~
Brian’s video made national headlines. This Democrat handed the Trump administration a HUGE gift, as MAGA wants to cut government regulation, drown government “in the bathtub” all together.I’m a humble guy, but we facing a national emergency. Thus, I state openly and urge any and all to challenge me: I am the SMARTEST policy analyst in the nation. Both MAGA and WOKE are destroying our country, as well as Hawai’i. PROVE me wrong!
Commissioner Camp applauded our U.S. Senator. Mazie’s my rep, but have been supportive of Brian. Brian FUCKED UP badly!!! Enough of this nonsense.
He BLAMES government, at a time when we need government. Provided my reasoning. I want SOMEONE, anyone, to challenge me and prove me wrong! I beg you!
I’m not running for office. Not seeking one penny in compensation. I’m fighting for my nation and the Great State of Hawai’i. Brian’s video, similar to the “IN FLAMES” report on sexual contact in Lahaina by Khara Jabola-Carolus, J.D. and Nadezna Ortega, J.D., are daggers in the back of our nation.
So, who has the courage and brilliance to dethrone me, to put me in my place, to shut me up? I’d love to be squashed and proven wrong. If not however, then JOIN me and end this madness!!!
I’m a former pro basketball player. We earn our pay going one-on-one. Who’s got game and wants to go against me? Let’s play!!!
Christine Camp did not take up the challenge. Bryan Schatz did not. None of those who commented on Christine’s post dared challenge me. The silence was deafening.
Both Hawaii’s U.S. Senator Bryan Schatz and U.S. Congressman Ed Case, along with Avalon Group’s CEO Christine Camp, have sided with the MAGA coalition’s policy agenda. Hawai’i claims to be a WOKE state.
One congressman punished a Democrat protesting cuts to Medicaid; one senator supports reducing or removing government safety protections. These are MAGA positions. What are voters in Hawai’i drinking? Smells like KOOKaide to me.
Anyone have the Big Dick Energy to challenge me? Anyone? Bueller?
NOTE: Wrote to U.S. Senator Bryan Schatz. Our honorable U.S. Senator posted a YouTube video this week to SOLVE the housing crisis. YIKES !!! Avalon Group CEO Christine Camp forwarded. Double YIKES !!! Why you want to kill our family members? Triple YIKES !!!

Would love to hear back from our U.S. Senator. Sent out this blog article to some 150 media and official reps. We need to chat. Aloha
