‘Tis the season, and the reason for the season for many around the world is memory of the birth of Jesus, The Christ. Jesus sought justice, peace and love for all of us. Millions instead rush to malls and specialty shops for gifts, big screen TVs and sweets. Jesus commanded to LOVE ONE ANOTHER … even our enemies. Expensive gifts were not part of his vision. Love for each other was his hope.
UPDATE 1.9.25: Many similarities between Los Angeles wildfires and the August 8, 2023 wildfire in Lahaina, Maui. READ the Complete History on the Tragic Lahaina Disaster

UPDATE 1.13.25: The current tragic Los Angeles wildfires are nearly identical to the August 8, 2023 wildfire that destroyed historic Lahaina town in west Maui, and incinerated at least 102+ human beings, including keiki. The Felon Rapist Trump, MAGA and Republicans now blame California politicians, as they wish to make political gains. NONE have picked up a shovel to help out.
Alexander Alika Makanahiwahiwamaikalanililoa Malabey (Alika Malabey) posted a MAGA meme on social media. Alika said nothing about the Lahaina disaster. Hawaiian Electric Co (HECO) selected CEO Shelee Kirura as a DEI hire. She was not qualified. She had not been a CEO previously. She had no known experience with wildfire prevention. Under her direction, HECO did not develop a plan. HECO did not de-energize their power lines after being warned by the National Weather Service. Alika’s public profile posted on social media.

Jesus also warned that a camel would have a greater chance of passing through the eye of a needle than would a rich person entering heaven. Jesus was clear that he didn’t come to heal this dark, evil and painful world. His goal was to offer ALL of us a path to his spiritual heaven. Jesus saves anyone who is willing to humble themselves, seek forgiveness and then follow his righteous path.
Jesus will not be saving management at Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) this Christmas.

The Sins of Hawaiian Electric Management
Steward Yerton, CivilBeat, provided a summary of HECO’s report on the cause of the disastrous, deadly Lahaina, Maui fire on August 8, 2023. Nothing new. ClearHealthLife has been tracking investigative findings, reports and commentary since HECO incinerated at least 102+ human beings, including keiki. HECO CEO Shelee Kimura has engaged in a public deception since the initial disaster.

UPDATE 12.27.24: Hawaii News Now posted a story about Kamehameha Schools working to bring “abundance” back to Lahaina. The west side is incredibly dry; not well suited for most farming. HNN wrote, “The hills above Lahaina were once the breadbasket of West Maui and Kamehameha Schools wants to bring it back.”

Trump, MAGA and many want to go BACK IN TIME … life somehow was better then. Time is like a river. Dip your foot in, enjoy the cool waters. You will however NEVER touch that water again. Time, like the river, move forward.
Gina Uriarte Jones wrote, “If KS managed their land to begin with the fire wouldn’t have been so bad.” She BLAMES Kamehameha Schools. Few people seek to hold Hawaiian Electric Co. accountable. After PG&E destroyed California in the 2018 Camp Fire, residents of California pushed PG&E to bankruptcy. The company paid billions to victims, and restructured the company. They were held accountable. PG&E learned. Not in Hawai’i.
Responded to Gina, “had HECO executives managed their electric grid properly, NO FIRE would have started in the first place. HECO even gave CEO Shelee Kimura a raise after the devastating fire that incinerated at least 102+ human beings, including keiki.” Hawai’i residents apparently are too fearful of HECO to hold them accountable. Seems HNN deleted my comment.

Kimura, like unscrupulous lawyers and corrupt politicians, attempted to CONTROL the narrative since Day 1 after the horrific destruction, which was Biblical in scope and nature. Their deceptive attorneys, Joachim P. Cox, Randal C. Whattoff et al claimed: The Lahaina and Upcountry Fires were preventable tragedies, but as discussed below they were not the fault of Hawaiian Electric, and Hawaiian Electric is not legally responsible for any resulting harm.

HECO and their attorneys BLAMED and SHAMED all other parties, refusing to accept and acknowledge their own culpability, incompetence and mismanagement. Yes, the Lahaina fire was preventable, and HECO’s 59-page accounting to Hawaii’s Public Utilities Commission provided no additional explanation about the cause of the inferno or the company’s role in the failure.
Conclusions from Hawai’i Attorney General Anne Lopez, the Maui Fire Department and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are unanimous:
High winds damaged utility lines and knocked out power in the pre-dawn hours of Aug. 8, 2023. HECO re-energized power lines later that morning, sparking a fire that was thought to be extinguished by midday, only to flare up later and ultimately sweep through Lahaina.
HECO executives had been warned for years. HECO executives did not develop a plan. Lahaina residents were forced to flee to the ocean, shelter in waters, as burning embers flew over their heads.
Horrific nightmare for innocent human beings. At least a 1,000 keiki have not returned to local schools. Many families were forced off island. Maui’s economy still suffers in recession.
Kimura consistently claimed HECO was not at fault — that there was a second fire — a fire not related to the initial fire that Kimura admits HECO’s re-energized power lines ignited around 9:30am that fateful day. SEE: Please Tell the Truth About Hawai’i

Kimura had NO EVIDENCE to support her claim at the time. She manipulated public accounts, distorted facts to portray HECO in a favorable light, while deflecting criticism from HECO’s managerial team.
All professional investigations concluded however that HECO’s initial fire was the culprit in the impending disaster. Kimura has not apologized, has not sought forgiveness from victims or Hawai’i residents, and refuses to step down from her multi-million dollar CEO position for her incompetent leadership. Most hurtful, Kimura and other top executives were rewarded lucrative raises in 2024.
The deception has expanded to include Governor Josh Green. Hawaiian Electric executives donated some $20,000 to Josh’s gubernatorial campaign. They now call in favors. Insurers of Lahaina victims have paid or committed to pay over $3.2 BILLION to families and small businesses. Hawaiian Electric and named defendants offered to settle all claims and reimburse companies $600 MILLION — $0.19 on the dollar.
Insurers are furious. Green has waged a campaign to guilt and admonish “greedy” CEOs, and urges companies to accept losses. “That’s all the money there is,” warned Green. Another deception. Green offers state residents lucrative tax cuts in 2025 and boasts of billion dollar government surpluses. There is plenty more money to do the right, the pono, thing. Pay what we owe.
Green protects local friends; and punishes mainland and international insurers, as well as their stockholders. That’s the Aloha spirit in Hawaii’s ruling class. They are cruel cheaters and deceivers.
Hawaiian Electric CEO & president Connie Lau said frequently, “With great privilege comes great responsibility.” Hawaii’s ruling class enjoys privilege. They aren’t willing to shoulder responsibility.
History of Management Incompetence and Cruelty
I came to HECO from the outer island of Kaua’i on August 8, 2018. Said a prayer of deep gratitude to Tutu Pele on arrival at Honolulu airport for my blessed fortune and opportunity. Began work Monday, August 13, 2018, and was an immediate perfect fit for the accomplished and talented, but short-handed, team of IT professionals.

My supervisor, Lori Yafuso, provided a brief review in November 2018, as HECO renewed my six-month employment contract:
But….YOU have been a great asset to our team and it is your personality and humble nature that makes all of us so comfortable working together. We have had contractors on the DBA team before, but never with the synergy and positive energy that you bring with you. I believe you have had the greatest influence in our success and glad that we selected the right contractor. You have definitely made your mark here at HECO and have set the bar very high for future contractors!
Thank you for being you…keep doing what you do…keep that good karma flowing!
Lori Yafuso, HECO IT Department Manager and Supervisor

My coworkers were pleased with my work and team contributions. Sean Nakasone provided his thoughts after HECO fired me unjustly on February 25, 2019:
Hi Scott, I personally never saw any evidence of you being impaired. Quite the contrary in fact. I would say sharp, expedient, professional, techical, humble, the whole package really. But I did notice you had a limp, so I suspected you were in pain, but you never mentioned anything, and I never bothered to ask, our conversations were always about getting things done, and you delivered in times when we had to deliver and get things done.
Marijuana is a complex issue, often misunderstood, has been known to relieve pain, and when used correctly does not impair.
Sean Nakasone, HECO IT Programmer
Correct, medical cannabis does not impair when used as directed. Although a top performer at HECO, the company fired me February 25, 2019, for my use of prescribed medical cannabis. SEE: Cruelty and Incompetence Characterize Hawaiian Electric Management
IT team leader Gregory Sasaki forwarded these gracious comments, “You are one of the greatest teammates that I’ve had the honor to work with. Truly a blessing from God.” That’s leadership!

Lori Yafuso offered me a permanent position in January 2019. Both of us, as well as the IT team, were delighted. “We’ve been dating long enough,” she said. Let’s make this professional relationship permanent.” We both laughed and shook hands.
I was unaware that Lori failed to follow HECO policy. HECO required her to provide me with the company Substance Abuse Policy, and have a conversation about any potentially impairing medications prior to beginning my first day:

Shouldn’t have been a concern to the company. My prescription was for evening use, never before or during work, to control osteoarthritis pain so I could sleep soundly at night. The IT department had observed my work and performance for six months. All were confident I was competent and professional.

I assume HECO failed to train Lori competently. She may not have been aware of the Substance Abuse Policy. The policy Lori provided to me suggested my medication was permitted:

In principle, HECO management failed to protect the company, my coworkers, as well as me, with their incompetent training programs. Their sloppy behavior would not uncover a casual user of illicit or illegal drugs. They simply punished an ethical, honorable and professional employee who suffered pain and disability.
HECO management also stripped a critical member from the IT team, while the group was updating server security across the islands. This pattern of incompetence led to the incineration of Lahaina and some 102+ human beings.

HR Director Shana Buco, Feb 11, 2019
When HECO offered me the permanent position, HR director Shana Buco required a background check, which I passed, and a drug screen. Buco assigned her assistant, Liz Dear, to manage the screen. Held a private conversation with Dear on February 14, 2019, to inquire about the specifics of the HECO requirements. Informed Dear of my legal, prescribed medical cannabis use in off-duty hours. Dear assured me I would be fine.
We do make an awesome team…glad to have you on board! I just got word that the “button” has been pushed which will result in an email to you. 😊
Supervisor Lori Yafuso, Feb 11, 2019
Fantastic! Thank you Scott for your flexibility and we look forward to having you officially on the HECO team. 😊
I see the background check has been submitted on my end, so we will be on the lookout for the results. As soon as that comes in we will contact you to schedule the drug screening.
Feel free to call me if you have any questions.
HR Director Shana Buco, Feb 12, 2019
Both Buco and Dear misled me. I was not fine. HECO management was totally fucked up. Although Herman Lau informed me on about February 20, 2019, that HECO had officially selected me; although I relayed the good news to Supervisor Yafuso and my teammates, Buco fired me Monday, February 25, 2019, just before lunch. Blindsided! Terrified! Emotionally Destroyed!

Buco and HECO management demanded I immediately exit the building in shame and humiliation. Generally HECO provided contractors or employees with an honorary luncheon on departure from service with the company. HECO denied me. Buco told me the company considered me to be a danger to coworkers, the company and general public. Management did not want to speak to me or see me again. HECO treated me like a dangerous criminal or leper.
Had never been treated so cruelly. Pleaded with HECO management. HECO promised fairness to all. HECO promised any policy could be waived. HECO promised to pursue “imi pono” — seeking righteousness. None were willing to help me or reconsider the wrongful termination.
Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono
Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono — and HECO did not perpetuate righteousness. Exactly five years from the day HECO summoned me to O’ahu on August 8, 2018, Pele incinerated the community of Lahaina to punish Hawaiian Electric executives for their cruel, negligent corporate behavior.
HECO forced me to hire an attorney, which created a hostile and adversarial relationship with the company. Attorneys Thao Tran and Susan Li treated me like a drug addict. Demanded I immediately cease use of my prescribed medication “cold turkey,” denying my doctor’s request that I be allowed to taper off the drug. Also had to initiate a “starvation diet.”

Although I immediately stopped use, medical cannabis leaves a residue in the user’s body fat: THC-COOH. It’s a non-intoxicating biological marker. For a long-time patient like me, even though I ceased use, THC-COOH could be released months later from fat stores if I missed a couple meals or had a strenuous surf workout for example. The flood of THC-COOH would cause me to fail a drug test — and HECO required a number of random drug tests over the next year of employment.
To HECO, I wasn’t a medical patient, but a common drug criminal and addict. Jesus said to HEAL the sick and injured. HECO forced me to starve and put my body through the shock of medication withdrawal. Lost about 15lbs. Became emotionally distraught and intensely angry. I was suicidal and traumatized.
Thao Tran then withdrew HECO’s offer claiming time was up and that I was never an employee of “the Company.” HECO denied my request to return to employment. My successful and productive career was over.
Thank you for your email and the proposed counteroffer. This is to inform you that we reject your counteroffer and, as you know, our offer is off the table as the deadline to respond to that offer has passed.
As mentioned in my previous phone conversation with you, the Company is discovering on a regular basis Mr. Goold’s continued misrepresentation of, among others, our company’s relationship with him, which was never an employer-employee relationship. Mr. Goold was never an employee of the Company and was not terminated from our Company. The Company has concerns with such misrepresentations.
Thank you,
Thao

Never an employee? Fucking corporate attorneys. One reason Luigi Mangione assassinated the healthcare CEO and millions of Americans applauded. “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor” is the ninth commandment in the Ten Commandments, Exodus 20:16, and is considered a moral imperative in Judaism and Christianity.
HECO Management is BAD

In November 2019, Jeffrey Williams Ubben, co-founder and chairman of ValueAct Capital, a hedge fund based in San Francisco, warned island residents that Hawaiian Electric management was “bad.” The group executed a hostile takeover of the board and demanded outside management.
HECO refused to select outside leaders. The company first appointed internal manager Scott Seu; then Shelee Kimura — continuing their pattern of hiring internal local Asians — too many skeletons in the organization. The Lahaina disaster proved their inbreeding practices are corrupt and dangerous.
At this time, HECO management has not apologized to me for their cruelty; nor has current HECO CEO & president Shelee Kimura apologized to the people of Lahaina, Maui for the corporate failure.
Jesus forgives those who humble themselves, apologize and correct their behavior. Jesus will not be forgiving Hawaiian Electric executives or management this holiday season. I offer a prayer on their behalf.
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34
