It’s simply shocking what social media is doing to our nation. Various platforms have encouraged extreme anxiety, depression and suicide in our young. Have radicalized and divided adults. Have addicted users, who now spend 6-8 hours per day on their platforms. Students aren’t studying; workers aren’t working. People have become mesmerized by the Continual Scroll hoping for another hit of endorphin, dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin.
I use social media for political and education purposes. Seek to educate followers and readers. Just after the Trump election victory, Nazi Sympathizers marched in Columbus, Ohio. Dreadful and horrifying images. World War II is a distance memory for many Americans. Few Veterans remain.
Our younger generations have no way to empathize with the suffering and terror Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime unleashed on the world. And, there is a resurgence of Hitler’s Hate in America and around the world. These White fundamental Christian supremacists hate Blacks for allegedly being “inferior,” hate Jews for allegedly “killing the Christ,” and seek to return the USA to a fascist society.
NAZIS on the March
The Jerusalem Post captured the imagery of the recent march in Ohio. I took a screenshot of their article and posted to my Facebook page.
Added the following commentary. I had posted a related comment the previous day, which was a photo from an individual in a nearby restaurant. Don Trump* supporters claimed it was “fake news.” Thus, I followed up with an official report the next day. NOTE: Don Trump is a narcissist, and narcissists love to see their name in print, corporate and social media, as well as on TV. Therefore, I have substituted LD (Lame Duck) for his name. I do not say his name. LD has disrespected our great nation and our values.
LD supporters claimed my post yesterday was false, “You’re a liar. You post fake news.” The world watched in horror as LD claimed there were “very fine people on both sides” of the Charlottesville Unite the Right rally in 2017. They were NAZI-sympathizers. On the night of Aug. 11, 2017, Neo-Nazis, Ku Klux Klansmen and other white supremacists marched through the University of Virginia campus bearing torches and terrorizing students with chants of “Blood and soil” and “Jews will not replace us.”
“This represents a turning point for the people of this country,” then-KKK leader David Duke declared at the time. “We’re going to fulfill the promises of Donald Trump because he said he’s going to take our country back.” Days later as reporters questioned his response, LD declared that there were “very fine people on both sides.” LD’s Nazi Supporters marched in Ohio yesterday. We WARNED you !!! 😱
Facebook Removed the Post
On November 17, 2024, Facebook warned me about a post. Responding to a comment from Ashley Chlepas, I wrote, “Never said you did: “Trump needs to be sworn in quick.” I’m not sure about the initial post or comment, but I don’t see how my statement violated their Community Standards on “violence and incitement.” In my experience, Facebook makes many poor decisions.

Today, November 21, 2024, Facebook notified me that my comment violated their Community Guidelines:

I clicked on CONTINUE:

I’m aware of Facebook Community Standards. Nothing I posted or stated violates their guidelines. I clicked OKAY:

Facebook said, We removed your post. I clicked SEE WHY:

Facebook claims the post “may contain symbols, glorification or support of people and organizations we define as dangerous. Let’s remember: the article comes from The Jerusalem Post. Facebook considers Jews to be dangerous? Americans have a right to know what is happening in their community and nation. I requested review:

The Jerusalem Post is NOT a dangerous organization or group of individuals. The publication posted the commentary to make Americans aware of what is happening in our nation. Facebook has violated our First Amendment rights and PROTECTED Nazis and their sympathizers. And I clearly posted the information of Facebook to “raise awareness” of activity in our nation:

The summary of my Review Request to Facebook. I’m doubtful they’ll change their decision or even respond.
Empty promises. Facebook relies on machines to make initial decisions and poorly-trained human reviewers to analyze appeals. Easier for them simply to delete the post. They care about making money; not furthering positive goals and outcomes for society.

Remember this post. Facebook won’t allow users to see such reports about HATE rallies in our nation. Facebook PROTECTS those who HATE by preventing good, decent people from being made aware of these activities.
