Trump and Supporters FALSE CLAIMS about Illegal Immigration
For Americans who remember history, we’ve had huge challenges on our southern border since the presidency of Ronald Reagan. He couldn’t solve the problem in his 8 years. Reagan gave MILLIONS of illegal immigrants amnesty. GHW Bush couldn’t solve the challenge in his 4 years; Bill Clinton, GW Bush and Barack Obama could not solve the crisis in their respective 8 years. Don Trump campaigned on Building a Wall. Bush and Obama had tried constructing walls. Not effective.
At the campaign rally where Don was shot, Don presented the chart below to followers. He claimed he left office at Point A: TRUMP LEAVES OFFICE. Lowest Illegal Immigration in recorded history. Don lied to his supporters and Americans. Point A was April 2020. Don did not leave office until January 2021, Point B (Black line).
Indisputably Don lied to supporters. Illegal immigration was low; maybe one of the lowest levels in US history at Point A … but April 2020 was heart of Pandemic. Nobody was traveling or moving around. Pandemic caused illegal immigration to fall; not the policies of Don Trump.
And we see that when Don left office in January 2021, Point B (Black line), illegal immigration had exploded to levels we see today. Why? People outside the USA could see that the USA was the place to be safe. USA leads the world. Under Don, USA led the effort to create vaccines. USA hospitals and medical professionals lead the world. USA offered citizens cash and financial incentives to help survive the darkness, chaos and fear of Pandemic. Millions of needy families began rushing our border.
DON LIED to Supporters and Americans. Further, US Senate Democrats and Republicans recently proposed major legislation to help seal the border, including 1,000s of new border agents, judges and legal staff to help reduce the backlog of applications, and $$$ for border control resources.

Trump and Supporters FALSE CLAIMS about our Economy
We’ve all been to the grocery store. Prices have exploded since Pandemic. Everything costs more today than four years ago. We all feel the economic pain. Republicans claim Joe & Kamala policies, particularly the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, caused the inflation. Their plan added about $1.9 TRILLION in relief measures to help families, small businesses, state and county governments, schools, colleges and universities, and provide more resources to fight COVID19.
The plan passed the US Senate, US House, and President Joe Biden signed the legislation March 11, 2021. The chart below tracks inflation beginning in 2016 through our most recent reported month, August 2024. Inflation currently has fallen to 2.5% and the FED reduced the prime rate by 50 basis points, in recognition of our national success.
When President Biden signed the ARP in March 2021, inflation was 2.6%. The next month inflation hit 4.2% and climbed dangerously to 9.1% by June 2022. Republicans claim ARP of March 2021 caused the inflation.
First, inflation occurs due to lagged actions in the economy. Experts know that ARP signed in March 2021 would not impact the inflation rate the next month. Takes time for the government $$$ to get to consumers, families and organizations; and for consumers, families and organizations to then spend the $$$. Sometimes economists claim we should expect at least six months for additional funds to impact the economy. Inflation was well under way by March and April 2021.
What Causes Inflation?
As I challenged Republicans who were blaming Joe & Kamala, one Trump Supporter in particular, Chris Corp, began nasty assaults on my character. Rather than engage in adult discussion and civil debate, he simply attacked my person, intelligence and state of mind. Offered Chris an opportunity to formally debate me in front of the 1,000s of followers on my social media account.
The specific question to Chris was: Please explain inflation 2021-2024:
Biden Harris dumped $2Trillion into US economy. Despite warnings from everyone, inflation exploded. Has happened every time tried. Then, liars like you tried to say inflation was already 9% when they did that. A lie. It was 1.4%. Then only as a result, rose to 10+%!! The candidate you are voting for caused this! Get a fucking clue. Stop lying!

And falsely claimed inflation was 1.4%, when it was higher, and rose 10+%, when the chart above shows that claim is false. I’ve already done so in previous responses. This is about who makes a better president. Which understands the economy and world best. One is running away from past statements and policy preferences to appear more likeable by the electorate. Who Is Chris Corp?
Chris claims to have attended Idaho State University. I did also and earned my Bachelors of Science in Economics. Chris appears to be a wholesome family man; someone you might like to know. He’s probably a guy who would stop and help you if your car broke down on the road.
Why then the hostility when hiding behind a keyboard? What has social media done to our personal and community relations? Chris Corp appears to be wealthy; should be enjoying his golden years with friends, family and community. He trolls on social media to intimidate, bully and insult those who have differing opinions.
I’ve learned that most insults are Freudian slips. The person attempts to project their insecurities to the other party. Chris is a beta. Had Chris been an alpha, he would have addressed me directly. Chris passively aggressively whispers insults to a friend. He knows he’s been the jackass and smaller man in our discussion.
And, as I prophesied, Republicans know that they cannot win in debate. They turn to insults.
What Caused Inflation 2021-2024?
Let’s return to the debate question that Chris could not answer correctly. To help me answer, I created two simple charts. Three scenarios. Two consumers: Chris & Scott. In all scenarios, both Chris and Scott need toilet paper (TP), and there are two packs of TP selling for $20 each.
Scenario A: Chris & Scott each have $100. Each purchase a pack of TP for $20. In Scenario B, Don Trump gives Chris & Scott $1,000 to assist with Pandemic costs and struggles. Still two packs of TP, both Chris & Scott purchase the TP for list price of $20. Trump’s relief did not affect prices.
In Scenario C, Joe Biden and Kamala give Chris & Scott a generous sum of $5,000. Still two packs of TP, both Chris and Scott purchase the TP for the list price of $20. Joe & Kamala’s relief package did not affect prices. No inflation in Scenario B or C. I proved Chris to be wrong.
Now, let’s alter the situation by LIMITING the SUPPLY of TP. Rather than two packs of TP for two consumers, now there is ONLY ONE pack of TP. Oh NO !!! Fights break out in the grocery store. In Scenario A, Chris & Scott both have $100 … the TP lists for $20, but how much will they be willing to pay? Maybe up to $100? That’s inflation. It’s the SHORTAGE of goods and services that causes prices to increase.
Obviously, whether Don gives Chris & Scott $1,000 or Joe and Kamala give Chris & Scott $5,000, the prices of TP will increase not due to the additional money, but because of the shortage of TP. And, in fact, when Joe & Kamala injected some $1.9 TRILLION into our economy in March 2021, this additional $$$ helped small business and producers of TP to produce more TP. Without the ARP of March 2021, supplies might have been further reduced and prices skyrocketed even more.
Pandemic created shortages; Shortages fueled inflation. Republicans falsely blamed Joe & Kamala.
Pandemic forced small businesses, factories and plants to close. Pandemic shattered our global supply lines. TP produced in China was not able to be shipped to American consumers. Most of us remember the traffic jam of cargo ships sitting idly off California coasts waiting to be unloaded. Trucks were idle; rail networks were idle. Products were blocked from reaching needy consumers. Prices exploded.
Joe & Kamala and Democrats did the RIGHT THING for the USA and Americans by passing the ARP in March 2021, as well as the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) signed by President Joe Biden on August 16, 2022. Inflation had hit a high of 9.1% when Kamala cast the deciding vote in the US Senate. Today, due to Kamala, Joe Biden and Democrat action, inflation is historically around 2.5%.
HIRA — Republican Assembly of Hawai’i: “Please make sure you put your ridiculous assertion about government spending NOT causing inflation in bold caps so that you get all the credit you deserve for being a socialist mouthpiece as a wannabe DNC huckster.
